Dickinson College - Two positions

Contributing Faculty member in Violoncello
One Year Replacement Position for Nancy Baun (sabbatical leave)
Contributing Faculty member in Violoncello to teach cello, to coach
student chamber music and perform regularly as Principal Cello with the Dickinson College Community Orchestra (DCCO).

Instructional hours based on 4 hours per week of cello instruction or coaching. The DCCO meets regularly on Wednesday evenings and the position includes 24 weekly 3 - hour rehearsals and 8 non-regular 2 - hour dress rehearsals (12 week semesters for Spring 2000 and Fall 2000).

The Contributing Faculty member in Violoncello is also invited to perform one Faculty Recital in Spring 2000.

Salary: $8,220

In addition to the College position, a private cello studio of 5 hours a
week which includes intermediate, adult amateur and advanced students.

Salary: $7,000

January 2000 - December 2000 combined income $15,220

Faculty Position in Violin & Viola

One Year Replacement Position for John Eaken (sabbatical leave)
Two-thirds time Contributing Faculty member in Violin and Viola to teach string students, to coach student chamber music and to perform as concertmaster of the Dickinson College-Community Orchestra (DCCO).
Instructional hours based on 8 hours per week of teaching or coaching.
The DCCO meets regularly on Wednesday evenings and the position includes 24 weekly 3 - hour rehearsals and 8 non-regular 2 - hour dress rehearsals (12 week semesters for Spring 2000 and Fall 2000). Additionally, the contract will include payment for 6 hours during the week before Fall semester 2000 for recruitment and auditions of new orchestra members.

The Contributing Faculty member in Violin and Viola is invited to perform one Faculty Recital in Spring 2000.

Salary: 2/3 time faculty position with some benefits - salary negotiable.

The Piatigorsky Foundation announces a new position:
Concert Coordinator Full-Time

Organization: The Piatigorsky Foundation is a non-profit organization that brings live classical performances into communities who could not or would not otherwise get to hear them. Since 1990, it has presented over 600 programs across the United States in retirement communities, schools, community centers, synagogues, churches, libraries, workplaces and other places where people regularly gather within their own communities. The Foundation currently presents 150 concerts in eights states each season. The person who fills this position will work closely with the Executive and Artistic Directors, a part-time Volunteer Coordinator and a roster of extraordinary musicians in a friendly, warm and dynamic office.

Annual budget: approximately $250,000

Position: The Foundation seeks a Concert Coordinator to be the principal liaison between the Foundation, concert venue and artists. The position is creative, detail-oriented and has a great deal of autonomy and potential for growth. Responsibilities include scheduling concerts with current concert venues as well as identifying and developing new concert locations; coordinating operations such as travel and lodging arrangements; compiling and distributing program and publicity materials.

Qualifications: Excellent organizational skills; energy and self-motivation; ability to manage a multi-task postition; great phone manner - this position requires extensive phone contact; good writing skills; computer literacy; familiarity with classical music and the performing arts world is helpful but not necessarily required

Compensation: $25,000 - $28,000; two weeks vacation (to start); medical benefits TBD

Creative Affairs - New York City Arts Internships
Arts4All is looking for energetic and creative interns who are eager to work in the international arts community. Primary responsibilities will include office support, production support, and research.

A typical month can include contacting major symphony organizations, operating equipment in our production studio, supporting our Educational Programming production, working with the Arts4All Newsletter, and interacting with actors, writers, artists, musicians, dancers and filmmakers.

Creative Affairs - Educational Programming Developer
Oversee and develop educational programming for Arts Content provider. Must have working knowledge of K-12 and Higher Education institutions and renaissance knowledge of the Visual and Performing Arts.
