Volume I Issue
5 Welcome Welcome to the fifth issue of Arts4All Newsletter, our Back-to-School issue. In her profile of concert violinist / teacher Daniel Heifetz, Suzanne Peterson movingly describes the healing effects his inclusive educational approaches can deliver to students and listeners alike. Robert Metzger begins his comprehensive analysis of the life and work of the late sculptor Reuben Nakian. Starting art school at age 15, working for an illustrator designing magazine covers, apprenticing to a well-known sculptor, and gradually finding his own way, Nakian never stopped learning. Journeying way back to his undergraduate days, Michael Nicolella did some thinking about what really influences a person's growth and education, and what that has to do with the digital divide. We received a Letter to the Editor from Paul Toner, who has something to say about students of painting and the artists who teach them. Our new Linkage Department looks at some educational sites around the world. Stay tuned - In each issue we'll recommend new sites to your attention. Send your picks to the editor. And speaking of issues, we are very pleased to announce the Arts4All Newsletter will be changing from twice a month to a monthly publication schedule. Watch for Newsletter Issue 6 in October.
